Decades ago Gary & I worked together selling cars. We enjoyed a memorable week vacationing in Tampa, Gary's first time, in the '70's.
Over the years we stayed in touch and I am SO GLAD I called and talked to him TWO WEEKS prior to his going to Heaven. Despite the sadness of his passing, I'm smiling as I compose this due to so many FUN memories.

When you work in healthcare you experience death and loss often; you almost become immune. But every now and then a patient gets in and finds a place in your heart. Gary, my friend, it was a pleasure knowing you. Thank you for your stories and so many laughs. I'm honored that I spent the final moments with you. You mattered to so many of us and you will be deeply missed. Fly free my friend. you will be immensely missed.
