Gary Patrick Warner, age 90, left this earth to be home with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on September 28, 2024. His final wish was fulfilled when he was able to celebrate his 90th birthday surrounded by family in Augusta, WI. A big thank you to our extended family for making it so special for him.
He passed away peacefully in the company of his family, at his private home, in Heritage Springs, Trinity FL.

Gary was born August 25, 1934 in the small dairy town of Augusta, WI to Earl and Jean Warner (Johnson). He was one of 5 children. After he graduated HS Augusta, WI 1952 he attended University of WI until he was drafted in 1953.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Marjorie 'Marge' Warner (Martenson), two brothers Bill and Bob and his sister Nancy Jean (Metz) and his son James "Jim" Warner. He is survived by his sister Shirley (Smith, in Montana).
He is survived by his 3 of 4 children, Dean Warner, Brenda Warner Lee (Paul Lee) and David Warner (Sandy Evans), and his granddaughter, Colleen Kelly Spencer (Alan) and his great-grandson Stellan Spencer.
Gary received an honorable discharge 1955 as Sgt. from the US Army (Korean War Vet).
On June 1st, 1957, Gary and Marge took their wedding vows at St Olafs Catholic Church in Eau Claire.
Gary got a job at Collins Radio, Cedar Rapids, IA. He worked on the first Manned Space flights, Project Mercury. Next, he got a job at Martin-Marietta in Denver there he worked on Titan Launch Vehicles and Gemini where he would meet the pioneer astronauts. Next, GE Space and Military Division in King of Prussia, PA. He worked on Jet Propulsion Lab's Mars Mariners (3yrs), various NASA programs, including Nimbus WX satellites, Earth Resource Satellites, Defense Communications Satellites (DSCS). One time he was called in to work emergency on a Manned Moon flight nuclear generator. He worked as Productions Manager on US Army/ USAF Logistics shelters globally deployed systems (DAS-3), 2yrs in CT as Program Engineer. He had a full career working on worldwide classified programs until his retirement (GE 30 years).
He and Marge renovated the family home on Marsh Creek State Park ("Marsh Manor") where they lived for 55 years. They enjoyed their 'summer-bird' homes for 20 years in St Ignace, Michigan. Gary enjoyed meeting at the truck stop for men's coffee group. They had many family members and friends stay over for BBQs and holidays.
In 2021, they moved to a beautiful home in "Nature's Place" (
Trinity, FL) where they enjoyed watching wild birds, deer, turtles and alligators living in their backyard pond and canal. Gary belonged to his "Nature's Place Men's Club" and enjoyed many friends and neighbors for luncheons and visits.
Gary and Marge traveled often to Michigan, Wisconsin, Montana, Hawaii and Alaska. Global travel to Panama, Caribbean, South Korea (DMZ), he walked on the Great Wall of China, he sailed to the Great Barrier Reef, and went to the Glaciers of New Zealand, South Island. No matter the travel destination, his favorite place was at home with his family. He was a member of St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church (Eagle, PA) and St. Peter the Apostle (
Trinity, FL). He was a proud American patriot and will be laid to rest with Military Honors on Friday, November 15, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at Florida National Military Cemetery, Bushnell, FL
Mass will be on Thursday, November 14, 2024, 10:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 8320 Old County Road 54, New Port Richey, FL 34653
