Gary E. Zielke

Gary E. Zielke, age 73 passed away after a determined battle with cancer Monday, January 9, 2023, at ThedaCare Medical Center, Shawano.

Gary Ervin Zielke was born on February 21, 1949, in Shawano to Earl and Marjorie (Kroening) Zielke. He grew up in the Tigerton area and farmed for many years with his dad. Gary was employed for some time at Neenah Foundry and at Waupaca Foundry. He also worked for a number of years at Tigerton Lumber Company.

Gary was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Town of Morris. He enjoyed doing yardwork, searching for treasures at local flea markets, going to the stock car races, Brewer’s games, and Schultz’s Cafe. Gary was quite a character and had a great sense of humor.

Survivors include a half sister, Betty Luedtke of Fremont; a nephew and two nieces; several cousins; many other relatives and dear friends. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Clifford Luedtke.
