I will always remember Gaylene in the fall because we had a great time trick-or-treating together in Excelsior in Jr High. She really had the American Dream even in such a short span of time.

I
can hardly believe she's gone -- you were such a perfect pair.
All-unknowing, we were in Minnesota in mid-May. I only found out today. I will always remember talking harness with her in the halls
of BreyerFest. She was a terrific customer, inspiring me to new heights
of creativity. There was a shining about her. Those who remain will
remember her spirit and honor her name.

I knew Gaylene in high school and was very sad to learn of her sudden passing. We grew apart over the years but in high school she was a very loyal and fierce friend of mine. I send my condolences out to her husband, family and friends.

I remember so well the day Elmer called to say they were getting their little girl. It seems like only yesterday. And I was so very proud when they asked if they could "borrow" my name for her. She wore it so well. My heart is heavy with hurt but I have so many wonderful memories to recall of her.

Vivian,

Words can not express how shocked I am to hear about Gaylene. I am so sad over this. So young to die and from a cardiac arrest!

I first met her at a model horse show held at a shopping mall, in conjunction with a toy store in the mall, when she was a teenager. How excited she was over everything! I greatly enjoyed seeing the performance set ups the two of you would come up with over the years, especially with the small scale models.

I always looked forward to seeing the two of you at shows in the Mpls area, Great Lakes Congress and BreyerFest/NAN.

My heart goes out to you and the family members during this horrible time of grief and mourning.

I pray that Philip will continue to bring you lots of smiles and laughter and that, in time, peace and comfort will find its way to you.

Gaylene was an inspiration to us in the model horse hobby. She always new the correct way to set something up, the right piece of equipment to use and nothing was ever too small (micro horses!) Her and Viv are truly two people who were made for each for each other, and Phillip completed the circle. We'll all miss you dearly Gaylene, God be with you.

One of my favorite sayings from Gaylene was "If you're not part of the solution, you're part of the precipitate." Only those of us that took (and remember) Chemistry in school get it; but that was fine with Gaylene, she'd happily explain it to the folks that didn't get it. Even the ones she had just labeled as part of the precipitate. Gaylene never was part of the precipitate... always part of the solution. She was constantly helping folks solve problems in the close to 10 years I've worked with her and/or Viv. A force to be reckoned with when she put her heart and mind into something, her passing will leave the world a little bit darker for all that knew her.

How sad we are to learn about the death of Gaylene. She used to play in the sand box with Katie when they were real little kids. We cannot imagine the grief you are feeling. We remember when she arrived from Korea and seeing her in church at Christmas in her red velvet Christmas dress. We hope that all the good memories and love from your friends will help you with the loss.

I haven't talked to Gaylene since we graduated high school (and maybe the occasional email in college because I remember she had gotten married), so I was shocked to see her name listed today. I clearly remember her sitting behing me in English class senior year and us whispering about some nonsense. I also remembered her love for horses and smiled when I read them in her obituary. I am so sorry for your loss. Much love to her son and husband and family and friends.

Gaylene will be greatly missed for her friendship, her great sense of humor and life, and her energy! She packed an awful lot of living into so little a body that threw so tremendous a shadow!
If she thought it was worth doing, she threw her heart and soul into it. Motherhood, Star Wars, horses and a great smile!
