Big Gene was one of the proudest fathers I have ever met. The first thought that crossed my mind when I heard about his passing was his kids and how they would get through it. You all just need to remember how PROUD he was of you, LOVED you, and that you WILL see him again someday...can you imagine how "good he will look" by that time?:), not to mention the fantastic one liners he will have thought of by then:)
I remember the first time I met Big Gene, I was in 9th grade. Sometimes it is hard to remember exactly when you first met someone, but for some reason that 1st meeting I recall:) The thing that I will remember most about him was his humor. I think that he would also appreciate that I remember his cooking, as long as I first remember his humor!
...and to Barbie, There are no words to describe the way you cared for and about the father of your children. I loved that you were listed first as his Best Friend. You were a great wife and a great best friend to Gene and he nor your kids could have asked for anything more.

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. although it has been years since I have seen Gene we caught up by phone last summer. He was so proud of his family and he spent alot of talking about his kids and grandkids. I have some great memories of Gene from grade school through high school he is part of some of my fondest memories. May God Bless you and be with you during this difficult time.

I remember Gene from way back when I was just a little kid. He always treated me with respect and greeted me with a smile.

To all of his family, and to all his dear friends…may you be comforted with all the good that he has created and left here with us; for he is who brought us all together.

Thinking and praying for you all,

I do not know where to start. "Beno" you always have been my heart! You never tried to change me, or anyone else! It is so hard for me to think you are gone...my Godfather and my friend! I see you picture, and already miss your voice and your laugh! You always had a knack of effecting people with your sense of humor, and sweet ways! No one will EVER take your place in my heart!!! I MISS YOU!!! Thank you for teaching me to accept others and ourselves for who we are- you are wonderful, and I will miss you constantly.
