Gene Autry Ellis

Gene a native and resident of Plaquemine, Louisiana, died on Tuesday, June 30, 2015. He was 66 years old. He was employed by the Iberville Parish School Board as a custodian at White Castle High School where he was affectionately know as "Mr. Gene" and "Paw Paw Gene." He was a graduate of Iberville High School Class of 1969. Visitation at Roscoe Mortuary on Sunday July 5, 2015 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Visitation resumes at Mt. Airy Baptist Church on Monday, July 6, 2015 from 9 a.m. until funeral services at 11 a.m. Our beloved Gene, will be greatly missed. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted children; 1 son, Reginald (Loki) Ellis; 3 daughters Eunice (Phillip) Watkins, Quandra (Ashley) Mosby, and Jillian Ellis; 14 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; 1 brother, Clyde (Mary) Ellis; 3 sisters, Agnes (Walter) Oliver, Claudette (Clyde) Ellis, and Charlene Butler; former wife, Edna Pugh; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Stella Lego Ellis; 4 brothers, Richard Jr., Charles, Andrew Roy and Wilford; 2 sisters Elfaye and Marion; grandparents Andrew and Agnes Paul Lego and Edward and Wilhermena Washington Ellis.
