Gene was such a precious person! I just saw that he had passed and was sorry to hear that. He will be dearly missed. I worked for the LPD for many years and Gene would always come to our events and he and some of our retirees would have me in stitches the entire time they were around. Gene would also catch me at Hillcat games and give me a big hug! Even when his health wasn't the best, he would always have that great smile on his face and would always go in for that big hug! I will miss him and will always remember his precious spirit and that great smile.

What a good man and dear friend. The world would be a better place if there were more Gene Gallaghers. Prayers for the family.

The community has lost one of its most remarkable, caring leaders with Gene's passing. He was also one of our (Children's Miracle Network Hospitals) greatest volunteers. When you think of Gene, you smile. His memory and good works will live on, to cherish and hold, and always make us smile.
