Genevieve Holzheimer Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Feb. 5, 2025.
Genevieve Rose (Landi) "Gen" Holzheimer passed away peacefully on January 27, 2025, in Sarasota, Florida. She was born on December 20, 1937, in Plainfield, New Jersey, to Michael and Elda Landi and grew up in Perth Amboy, New Jersey. Gen married Arthur J. Holzheimer Jr., and together they built a loving home in Somerset, New Jersey, where they raised their two sons, Andrew and Arthur. A devoted wife and mother, Gen cherished her family above all else, finding immense joy in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Known for her warmth and vibrant personality, Gen had a remarkable ability to connect with others. At Grand Living in Sarasota, she was affectionately nicknamed "The Mayor," a reflection of her engaging and outgoing nature. Gen led a full and active life. She worked at Standard Oil, served as a Cub Scout Den Mother and a Teacher's Aide in Franklin Township Schools, and later contributed to Central Moving & Storage. Alongside her husband Art, she co-founded Holzy's, a beloved family business in Somerset that thrived for over 25 years and became a cornerstone of the community. She is survived by her sons Andrew (Maria) Holzheimer and Arthur (Tracy) Holzheimer; her sister Gloria (Landi) Toth; six grandchildren: Andrew (Hailey) Holzheimer Jr., Gina (Matteo) Fochetta, Theresa (Matt) Holzheimer, Michael (Alicia) Holzheimer, Vincent (Missy) Holzheimer, and Alexa Holzheimer; as well as eight great-grandchildren: Genevieve, Hank, Louisa, Silas, Tessa, Jesse, Harper, and Isla. A Celebration of Life will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida at a later date. May Gen's memory bring comfort to all who loved her.
