Genevieve Fugate Worley BRISTOL, Va. Genevieve Fugate Worley, 84, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012, at Bristol Regional Medical Center. Born in Stoneborough, Pa., Genevieve had lived in Hiltons, Va., most of her life. She was a 1945 graduate of Hiltons High School and worked for several years at Kingsport Press. Genevieve attended Hiltons United Methodist Church and was very active in the Boozy Creek Community Center. She enjoyed quilting, needlework, working in her flowers and spending time with Amy and Jodi, who lovingly called her Aunt Bee. She was preceded in death by her parents, W. M. Fugate and Zelthia Salyer Fugate; husband, Gordon Smith; son, Gary Smith; and adopted brother, Ralph Salyer Jr. Genevieve is survived by her husband, Myrt Worley, of Bristol, Va.; sister-in-law, Mary Lynn Salyer Booher of Bristol, Va.; nephew, Cary Salyer and wife, Kathy, of Vinton, Va.; special great nieces, Amy and Jodi Salyer; step-daughter, Linda Chambers LeMaster and husband, Pete, of Kingsport, Tenn.; step-son, Jonathan Worley and wife, Rita, of Bristol, Tenn.; step-grandson, Matthew Worley of Los Angeles; and several cousins. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, at Hiltons United Methodist Church in Hiltons, Va. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. at the church, with the Rev. Will Shewey and the Rev. Marvin Lane officiating. Music will be provided by the Rev. Will Shewey and Lori Jones. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at Holston View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Grady Blalock, Orin "Bird" Blackburn, Rodney Pippin, Hiram Gardner, Cary Salyer and Claude Salyer. Honorary pallbearers will be Paul Worley, Charles Worley, Bill Dowell, Howard Gardner, Joe Pullon, Jimmy Salyer, Joe Hagan Salyer, Doyle Salyer and Carl Salyer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hiltons UMC, PO Box 10, Hiltons, VA 24258,; Salem UMC, 230 Boozy Creek Rd, Blountville, TN 37617 or Booher's Chapel UMC, 6544 Boozy Creek Rd, Bristol, VA 24202. Myrt, We are so very sorry for your loss. Genevieve was such a sweet person and we loved her. It is difficult to believe she is gone from us,however,our loss is heaven's gain. We were already in Florida when learned of her passing. You continue to be in our prayers. May God bless and bring you comfort.
