Gennaro A. Ciavarelli of Perkasie Gennaro A. Ciavarelli, PhD, “Gino”, age 74, of Perkasie, formerly of Ft. Washington and Blue Bell, died on October 18, 2015 at his home. He was born in Abington, PA on February 19, 1941 to the late Dr. Anthony G. Ciavarelli and Mary I. (Albanese) Ciavarelli. He was a graduate of St Anthony Elementary School and St. Matthew High School. He attended Gettysburg College and graduated from Windham College in Vermont. He later achieved his Master’s degree from Springfield College in Massachusetts and his PhD in Clinical Psychology from Hood University in Florida. Gennaro was employed as a Clinical Psychologist in the local area and later worked for AL Williams Financial as a Manager. He later became an entrepreneur in the food business, where he was able to show is passion for food and cooking. He was a member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church in Hilltown. Gennaro enjoyed cooking, gardening, going on cruises, discussing politics, problem solving, and hosting parties for family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 24 years Dorothy (Treacy) Ciavarelli, two sons Gennaro “Gino” Ciavarelli of East Norriton, Carl Ciavarelli of Perkasie, a daughter Tracy Mullarkey of Harleysville, 4 grandchildren Justin and Jake Ciavarelli, Kevin and Nolan Mullarkey, his brother Anthony G. Ciavarelli, Jr. (Carol) of Lansdale, PA, Mary C. Van Dervort (Judson) of St. Michaels, MD, Beatrice H. Ciavarelli (Florence Perkolup) of Gladwyne, PA, Angela Ciavarelli of Calabash, NC, and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass on Friday, October 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 259 Forest Ave., Ambler. The Viewing will be from 9:30-11:00 a.m.at church. Interment will be Private in the family mausoleum in St. Patrick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Gennaro’s name may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675. Arrangements by the Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Homes and Crematory. Condolences may be made at www.ciavarellifuneralhomes.com.
