Geoffrey KNOWLES Obituary
November 29, 1925 - November 21, 2014
Geoff, a proud British Royal Marine Commando WWII Veteran, passed away peacefully at Ste-Anne's Veterans Hospital eight days before his 89th birthday. Born in Blackburn UK, he established a successful career as a textile sales and merchandising manager in Montreal's garment industry. A charismatic man who enjoyed dancing, music, cribbage and golf, he was adored by those who knew him. Geoff is survived by five children (Susan, David, Ian, Jeff, Steve), ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by two children (Christine and Glenn). He will be fondly remembered by Lorraine, Lynn, Judy, Hemani, his second wife Joan Moorhouse, daughters-in-law Andrea Bichara, Carol Knowles, Ged Knowles and son-in-law George Buchan. A special thank you to the staff at the Veterans Hospital. A Memorial will be held Saturday November 29, 2014 at Rideau Funeral Home, 4275 boulevard des Sources, DDO, QC from 1-3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Memories of your visit with us sat in the garden having a beer and our day trip to Conway castle in north wales .The smallest church of st trillo. smallest house in the UK ,all memories which we are revisiting on Saturday in your memory rest in peace. So sorry to read that Mr. Knowles has passed on. I hadn't seen or heard from him in years. He would come to visit the Legion in Kahnawake with a friend who served in the U.S. Marines. He always wanted to talk with the Marines of our Legion and we have many. Rest easy my friend.
