Georgann Marx passed away in Aurora, Colorado on April 25th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.

Georgann (Gigi to her grandchildren) was born on February 22nd, 1952, to Rita and Russell Marx in Chicago, IL. She grew up on the southside of Chicago, attending parochial schools. She earned a BA in Physical Education at the University of Illinois, a Doctor of Chiropractic at National University of Health Sciences, and a Masters of Physiology at the University of Denver. After completing her chiropractic studies, she pointed her Toyota Corolla, with the rusty luggage rack, to the west and ended up in Denver, CO. Dr. Marx operated a chiropractic practice in Aurora for 20 years, while raising four sons and pursuing her physiology degree. She loved to help people, serving as a substitute teacher (to keep an eye on her boys) and as a gate agent for Skywest Airlines and United Airlines. Her hobbies included tennis, pickle ball, golf, cooking, crocheting, running/walking and traveling. One of her favorite activities was completing workbooks with her grandchildren, as well as teaching them to play tennis and swimming. She was one of the volunteer managers of the Meadow Hills Ladies Wednesday Morning 9-Hole Golf League. Furthermore, she delivered holy communion to numerous parish members who could not attend church services. Georgann bravely battled cancer for five and a half years with amazing grace and strength. Not allowing the disease to slow her down, she traveled to Alaska, Greece, Madrid, London, Ireland, Geneva, the Czech Republic, France, Monaco, and countless US cities. She attended Wimbledon, the US Open, and the Cincinnati Southern & Western Tennis Tournament. Georgann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, sister-in-law, and friend to all who knew her. Georgann is survived by her loving husband of 38 years Don Clem, sons Russell (Jessie), Don E., George (Taleen) and Peter, grandchildren Aubrey, Sam, Lucy and Jack, sister Rita Guardi (Peter), brother Ed Marx, sister-in-law Deb Fox, nephews Bob Guardi (Jen) and Andrew Guardi (Jamie), niece Carly Guardi, and seven grandnieces. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Queen of Peace Parish in Aurora, CO. A celebration of life will be held at Horan and McConaty Funeral Home, 11150 East Dartmouth Avenue, Aurora, CO 80014, on June 9th, 2024, at 10:00 AM.

I had the great and good fortune to be Georgann's neighbor 2 doors away. We walked the golf course in summer and had tea in the winter. The COVID year we had each other and walked at least 6 feet apart. We had a lot of time to share and catch each other up on all the key parts of our lives we had missed. I felt I knew parents, siblings, her dogs and cats and most especially her children and sweet grandchildren. I learned so much from her and how you could never outgive her. I joked with her that she did more for me and Dan when our sweet dog died than she allowed me to do for her during rough times. Her example was something I wanted to emulate- there is nothing like a bag hanging from your front door with dinner prepared. Georgann tried to help me with my golf game and taught me how to crochet - although my golf game never improved and I never wore the unintentionally crazy- looking hat I made. She loved me any way.

Cindy and I met Georgann at a Colorado Ready Mix Concrete conference in Steamboat Springs in the early `90´s. She was the perfect match for Don, petit, confident, smart and a big smile! Since Don and I are in the same business I would keep up with the family through Don. Georgann was Don´s rock, supporting him when they moved to Ohio and back to Colorado for his job. The last five years has been such a journey and I´m thankful that there´s no more pain for Georgann. Our hearts are saddened with her loss and extend our deepest sympathy to Don and his family.

G-was the dearest and sweetest of friends, you could always trust her with your deepest thoughts
I was so fortunate to share so much with G over the years, our kids, trips, tennis, pickelball, golf, G-was a little gal with big athletic ability! G-was a delight to travel with she was always ready to experience new places and sights. One FL trip she wasn´t going to bring a swimsuit, cause she didn´t want to swim, she ended having more fun swimming in the waves than all of us !!
Most of all we shared in our Catholic faith, we spent many countless hours discussing catholicism and some of the crazy ideals we just couldn´t agree with, but together we formed our own love for such a diverse world and its many differences I will miss her terribly, as so many will
P.S. Thank You G for always loving and supporting my boys like your own

I am honored to have known Georgeann. She had always been patient and helpful in getting me signed up for tee times , along with other ladies, as my phone seemed to work against me. She had a sweet smile and was gracious enduring all her pain. She will be missed. Jacqui Battles

Georgann was such a sweet lady. Since we live on opposite ends of the country, I did not get to spend a lot of time with her. Over the years I have seen what fantastic young men she and Don have raised. So even though I only got to see her a few times, I know she was an incredible mother and wife. I am glad that she is no longer suffering.

Georgann and I met in high school. She was so friendly and fun! I hung out with her and her many friends and through her, I made new friends. We attended U of Illinois together, drove to Florida for a spring break vacation in her mom´s red Mustang!! We were so cool! My boyfriend (and now my husband (Jeff)) became friends with her long time boyfriend, Wayne. We had many "double dates" and played tennis together. We drifted apart and went our separate ways as time went on. I wish I had kept in touch. I will always remember Georgann as a kind and sincere friend. My sincere sympathy to you and your family.

Georgann & I met as parents of Polton Elementary students. Our kids were friends growing up from K-5th grades in the Dam East (Clem´s) & Dam West (us).
She was my 1st Chiropractor & I recall her tiny, little, self climbing up on the exam table to adjust me & realized how strong she really was! She packed A LOT of strength into her petite frame.
I invited Georgann on a mom-get-away weekend to the mountains, where we made fun memories, together in Silverthorne.
Georgann accepted my invitation for a winter weekend in Grand Lake. She & her boys drove up w/ my kids & I to stay in my friend´s cabin. She was always ready for adventure! :0)
Don & Georgann have been our guests for our annual White Elephant gift exchange to kick off the Christmas season.

I remember Georgann´s fun laugh - it was unforgettable.
Our whole family was blessed to have known Georgann & I am grateful for her friendship & love.

Gigi was an inspiration to all. She was so kind and thoughtful, raised 4 great boys, and was a wonderful part of the greater Clem family. Always gracious and kind loved by all. Glad she is not suffering anymore, all will miss her.

I first met Georgann on the tennis court at Meadow Hills, and quickly learned she was a force. Despite her small stature, she covered the court better than anyone I had played against. I admired her tenacity as well as her gentleness of thought. She was lovely inside and out, and I feel lucky to have known her.

I loved Georgann and the magnificent family she created with Don, my brother.
A special memory (I have so many) is when they met. My friend, Pam Hilton,
was moving back to Indiana and had met Georgann through work. Pam suggested that she and I should meet. I invited Georgann over for dinner and Don was also in town so I invited him too. Don ended up moving into the same apartment complex as Georgann and I have to honestly say that I rarely saw them again without each other. That was 1981 and the rest is history. The grandkids ask me to tell this story! I am grateful and honored to be part of this beautiful family. I admired and loved Georgann very much. She will be missed and I know in my heart she is at peace.
