George Arney was one of the most good hearted guys I ever met. He was a gentle giant . He came off tough but he had a kind heart . Growing up my teenage years I practically lived at the Arneys house . They feed me , took me out to eat with them , I even remember them taking me on a family vacation to Wildwood . I have so many memories . George , thank you . I loved you like a Dad . Semper Fi .

Dear Margaret and family. I was saddened to read this. George was the salt of the earth. He always had that big smile on his face and always portrayed that he could battle anything. We always had some nice chats about the USMC and each time he came into our office George ALWAYS asked about my son, also a Marine.I will never forget him or you, too. You will be in my thoughts and prayers, Margaret. SEMPER FI

I met Pvt. Arney on the train going to Paris Island 1957. We became friends at boot camp and were assigned to the same unit after boot camp India Bat, 3rd BN, 10th Marines. We went on a Med cruise in 1958 and ended up in Lebanon. We exchanged personal stories about our life before the Corps. I can't go into details. He was a great part of my life if only for a short time. Over the years I have thought of him often.
