George Baldwin Obituary

George L. "Lucky" Baldwin of Potter Hill Road, Lake Katrine died Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Vassar Brothers Hospital. He was 78. He was born in Phoenicia on June 7, 1930 a son of the late Harry Lee and Ella Deborah Mower Baldwin. He graduated high school at The College of William & Mary Williamsburg, VA. On October 31, 1954 he married Angela Orr. A construction worker for most of his life, for the past 30 years he worked in Ulster and Dutchess Counties as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver. He previously owned the Ammaco Gas Station on Boices Lane and 9W, Town of Ulster for 3 years. His sister Audrey Stanford died previously. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Angela Baldwin; two sons Fred Ohliger of Alabama and Michael A. Baldwin of Kingston; three daughters Angela L. Harden of Kingston, Lynn D. Stokes of Lake Katrine and Audrey L. Kenyon on Bloomington; one half brother John and four half sisters Esther, Dorothy, Ruth, Mary Lou; 14 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Reposing at the Simpson - Gaus Funeral Home, 411 Albany Ave. on Saturday from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. Cremation will be in Poughkeepsie Rural Crematory.
