I worked with Dr. beckwith for a short while at new Bern internal medicine and cardiology clinic when I lived in Havelock, nc. I liked him a lot he was very personable and I liked him even more due to going to school at the UNIV of Ky. I´m from ky and live in Lexington now. I´m so sorry for his passing he was a great person. Liked him dearly.

George and I were next door neighbors as kids. We built forts, tree forts, bicycled, swam at the UVA pool, caught crawfish in the stream behind our house and, I´m sure, annoyed the neighbors.
He was a good friend and my thoughts are with the family.

I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Beckwith passing. He was truly a blessing to work with. He was so kind, pleasant, and I always referred to him as "my hero". Because it never failed when my patients would take a bad turn he was always just around the corner to help us out every time. God just seemed to put him there every time. I have missed working with him. I will never forget him saying to a new doctor in a bad situation you don't shock asystole in a quiet voice after the fact while the two were walking away in his usual quiet teaching voice. He was so great to teach us all about the heart. He was so passionate about his work and his patients and you could tell it. Dr. Beckwith rest in peace until we meet again.

Dr. Beckwith was my daddy's doctor. Daddy thought the world of him. I will never forget on the day my daddy passed, Dr. Beckwith came to the nursing home to check on daddy. Also, on the morning of my daddy's funeral, Dr. Beckwith called me personally to offer his condolences. Not many doctors today take time to call and offer their concern for the family. He was a wonderful doctor and great man. He was revered by many. To his family, I send my deepest sympathy and prayers. May God bless you during this difficult time!

Dr. Beckwith was my fathers cardiologist. He had a fantastic bedside manner and often invited my father to fish on the river at his home. He saved my fathers life twice...finding an aortic aneuerysm and putting in a much needed pacemaker. Dr. Beckwith will and has been sorely missed in our community. Gosh, I don't know where to start. I worked with Dr. Beckwith for about 20years. I retired from the hospital. And after about 7 years I went to work at the office. He was so caring for his patients and truly helped them understand what was going on. He was not a Doctor who ran in the patient room and after 5 minutes out. He took time with his patients. I also saw this when I worked with him at the hospital. Great bedside manner. Patients family was as important to understand issues as patient. I have to say, he respected his nurses and appreciated them for their work. I truly remember that house keeping or any other co~worker or one that was needed to keep things working properly. He respected. I will be praying for you all.

I am saddened by the passing of George but know he is happy and hanging out with his dear friends that have gone before him. George kept my father in love alive longer than we thought would have been possible. He also kept my husband, Perry Bell, around longer than even Perry expected. George and Perry had more than a doctor patient relationship. They were also great friends and I loved that the two of them were close. After Perry died, I was so touched by George and his message to me during this difficult time. Much love and many hugs to all. Tonya Whitley Bell

So sorry to hear of Dr Beckwiths passing. He was an amazing physician who gave great care to my parents for a number of years. I am so sorry to hear of Dr Beckwith's passing. I first met him at ECIM and later worked for him and Dr Scovil for 2 years in their lab at the office behind the old Sonic. What a wonderful heart physician he was. He took care of so many. My heart goes out to the family during this time.

I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Beckwith in the operating room. Those were the most wonderful of days and his story of the "Becky Cup" will always be remembered by myself and the many staff that had the pleasure of working beside him. The Love he had for fishing and his family was never ending. I am so sorry for your loss and pray that each day gets a little easier.
