George was born April 19, 1932, in Seattle to Charles and Finetta Buchanan and graduated from Edmonds High School. He passed away in Spokane, October 14, 2007. He attended Wenatchee Valley College, where he met Dorothy Ann Myers. They were married September 12, 1953, at the old Central Christian Church in Wenatchee. He served in the U.S. Naval Air Corps, spending two and a half years in Iwakuni, Japan. George retired as Captain, after 28 years in the Wenatchee Fire Department. He loved spending time at the family cabin at Lake Wenatchee, golfing and riding his Gold Wing motorcycle. George and Dorothy moved to Sun City West, AZ in 2003, continuing to spend summers in Wenatchee and Spokane. George is remembered by his many friends from Edmonds High School, fellow firefighters, Masonic Lodge members and family. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; children, Richard (Susan) Buchanan of Wenatchee and Lynne (Phil) Lefler of Mead; six grandchildren; and extended family. A Celebration of George's Life will be held Friday, May 23, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. with a Graveside Service at Evergreen Memorial Park, 1301 10th Street N.E., East Wenatchee. In lieu of flowers, gifts may be sent in George's name to Wm. H. Jett Masonic Lodge, Masonic Center, 811 N.
