George L. Danbury, 74, died Thursday, October 28, 2004 at his residence, surrounded by his family.

Born in Troy, he was the son of late George T. Danbury and Bernice H. Wiltsie Danbury and the beloved husband of Barbara Smith Danbury.

Raised in Lansingburgh, he was a 1948 graduate of Lansingburgh High School. He lived in Grafton since 1978. Mr. Danbury was a US Army veteran during the Korean War, serving from 1951 to 1953. He worked for the Freihofer Baking Co. in Troy as a salesman for 42 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and the Adirondacks.

Survivors in addition to his wife Barbara, include his children, Barbara D. Munsey (David) of Exeter, NH, Peter L. Danbury of Grafton, Bernice H. Danbury of New London, CT, Chris S. Danbury (Jane) of Grafton, two sisters Lois Kewley (late George), and Joyce Davey (Edgar) both of Troy, a sister in law Janet Smith (late John J.) of Grafton, five cherished grandchildren, Kristin, Katie and Nehill Danbury, and Michael and Matthew Munsey, his faithful dog Sassy, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be Oakwood Cemetery, Troy. Memorial donations to Grafton Fire Co. Rescue Squad, Grafton, NY 12082 would be appreciated.
