Rosemary and family, I apologize for being so late to extend my condolences as I just learned of George’s passing. I too had the privilege and honor to work with George for several years at Wells Fargo. He taught me more about effective leadership and maximizing one’s own potential than could have ever been pulled from a thousand books or from the most prestigious business schools. His affinity to size people up, and allow you to find your own path with his gentle and protective guide is unmatched. George shared his humor, experience, knowledge, and just a little bit of rebel with those that worked with him. I can only hope to measure up to his expectations as a leader and a friend. His footprint remains … as he left a little bit of himself with each of us.

Rosemary and Family,
I was so sorry to hear of George's passing, and learned of it only recently. I worked for George for several years as his Admin. They were some of the funnest and most rewarding years I spent at NCS/Norwest. The picture on this guest book of George is how I have always remembered him since I left the company almost 17 years ago. He always had that sweet smile, because he was such a sweet guy. To Michelle -- while I never had the opportunity to meet you, I recall your father talking about you often as you were growing up. He was so proud of your individualism and strong beliefs. I hope that hearing from so many people who considered him a friend will help ease the pain of losing him.

George balanced his work demands with being easy-going and straightforward. He tempered his requests with an easy demeanor that made you want to work for him. I loved his ambling walks through the office. He showed me one can be successful, challenging AND pleasant to be around.
My condolences.

Rosemary, my heart and prayers are with you; I am so sorry I was off island at the time and missed the funeral. Is there a charity to which we may make a contribution in his memory. It is difficult to believe he is gone: so full of life and the joy of life and its possibilities. Although we only knew him for a short while, he was such a positive force in our lives. Many thoughts your way. Bill and Peggy Brevoort

Rosemary,
George was one of the first people I met when I started at Norwest. He was a truly wonderful person. A great mentor. I will always think fondly of him and his gentle leadership. My thoughts are with you today. I pray for God to heal your heart.

Rosemary, Deepest sympathy to you and your family. I have to repeat what many others have said - George was a wonderful leader and mentor. He was also an amazing judge of people and their talents. And he had this almost off-hand way of asking 'innocent' questions that made one think. But with George, these seemingly innocent questions were always, always intentional. It was one of those questions that ultimately led me try to live my dream - in France. He touched and changed many lives. He will be missed and remembered.

George was one of nicest persons I ever met. He was a very hard worker and would religiously be in the office every Saturday and Sunday. How are doing I would ask? He would always respond "Perfect" with a smile. He was great man who will be missed by all. Rosemary and Family my deepest sympathies to all of you in this difficult time.

George was an amazing leader, manager, mentor and friend. I will always remember the wisdom of both George and Rosemary, especially when I was pregnant with my daughter. George's advice was to ensure I had balance between work and home. He would often scold me for bringing work home. Rosemary's advice was a bit different. It might have had something to do with one of their daughters being roughly 15-16 at the time - same age as my daughter today. To Rosemary and family - my heart and prayers are with you. George influenced many lives, including mine. He will always be remembered and will live on in the hearts of many, especially mine.

Your grief may ebb and flow. It has been said that each of us has this well deep inside of us that can be filled to the brim with grief. Every time we cry, we empty out some of the well. But the well fills again. The level of sorrow in your well may lessen as time passes, but it will never run dry. There will always be birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, and those days when the well seems to fill to its brim again. Allow yourself time to remember and mourn. It is part of your healing. Grief is a continuing journey.

Rosemary and family. I was saddened by the news of George's passing. He was an outstanding coach, mentor and manager for many of us at Wells Fargo over his 30 years with the company. His wonderful words of wisdom and his caring approach to team members truly distinguished him as one of the best people I have ever worked for. I was truly blessed to have known him. He was a great person and will be missed by those that knew him but his spirit and wisdom lives on in many people. My prayers and condolences go out to you on George's passing.

I worked with George for over 10 years. As I reflect back now, George was always the voice of humanity on the leadership team and he had a wonderful ability to influence others in that direction. I believe his legacy in Wells Fargo has helped to shape the culture in the technology group. I believe there are many current and future leaders who make decisions a little differently because of what George talked about as he made or influenced decisions. He left the world a better place.

George and I both started at the old Northwest Computer Services in 1977. As the two "rookies", we shared adjacent desks. He was a fun guy to know and spend time. So sorry to hear of his passing. Please accept my deepest sympathies.

My deepest sympathies to your family. I considered it an honor to know him. We had many conversations about fishing and life over a nice glass of scotch. Thinking back now, I wish I could remember all that was said. Regardless, they were some great conversations. I'll miss him.
