What great memories we hold of your father.
From Fairmont avenue to Othos. From Stess to the P.O. lunch.
We were blessed to have known him and the example that he was.
By grace we know that he is in a place of light, a place of refreshment, where there is no pain or sorrow.
Long life to you and Eternal memory for your father.

I offer my sympathy and prayers to your family. What a wonderful tribute you shared about his life accomplishments! He was truly a man a courage and honor. I am privileged to have had the pleasure of meeting him when he was visiting Pittsburgh. It is very difficult to lose the great men and women who helped to form us into the successful, loving and caring beings we have become.

In Memory of Kyrio Giorgo,

I remeber when my mother died. Your father sat and talked with me about "what a wonderful, wonderful person" she was. This touched my heart. What a powerful tribute to someone he only knew for a short time. Well, I've known him for over 17 years, and my opinion of him has never faltered. He was a loving, gentle man who knew how to acknowledge a soul's triumph or tribulation. THAT is the true legacy he leaves with his heirs!

May God's speed help you in your healing. Zoe Se Sas & With All Our Love ... Eirene, Ray, & Fotini

Dear Mike and Anna,

I was terribly sorry to hear of your father's (and father-in-law's) passing.

Mike, what you must be feeling has never been far from my thoughts since you first notified me. I am thankful for the chance I had to meet your father when he came to visit you in Pittsburgh several years ago and doubly thankful that you knew when you needed to go see him and did so even considering the importance of your responsibilities here. Based on our conversations I know that in spite of the miles of ocean spanned between the two of you much of the time, you nevertheless maintained your connection with him for the full duration of your time here in this world together.

Mike and Anna, let me observe that it is through faith, love and memory that the connections across the generations, in your safekeeping, will always persist. Although there is that which passes, there is also that which transforms, and that which continues on forever within us, as it always has from before. If I wrote more than I should it is because I think there needs be offered truthful comforts along with sympathies during our times of deepest grief.

Your compadre across the years,

Joshua Ahrens

We will always remember George as a kind, warm spirited individual, highly principled, with a strong will who stood up for what he believed, and an unbending devotion to family. May his eternal memory comfort his loved ones in this difficult time, and his fine example be reflected in their future.
Aeschylus wrote: "Even in our sleep pain which cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart until, finally in our own late despair, against our will, comes wisdom, through the awful grace of God."

Mike, your father sounds like an amazing man and a very special person. It is obvious that he gave a great deal of himself both in Karpathos, and in America, as a proud Greek-American. He represents the best of that fine tradition. I know this is a horribly difficult time for you and a devastating loss -- but we are thinking of you often and keeping you in our prayers. We are so grateful that you got to see your father and give him such a pleasant surprise recently -- I'm sure it meant the world to him. We are thinking of you, Anna, the boys, and the rest of yoru family. Beth and Nick Hondros

Dear Mike, Anna, George, Manoli, & extended family,

My heart ached with the news of the loss of your father. Unfortunately, I never had the privilege of meeting him; however, I feel in some measured and great sense I knew him vicariously through his son and my friend, Mike. Mr. George Epitropoulos was a true patriot of Greece and adopted son of America -- he lived his life with honor, humility, and adventure.

We should all be so lucky to have a life filled with so many experiences and joy.

It gives me peace to know that he spent his last days with family on his island surrounded by the sea.

God rest his soul, and all those who cared for and loved him.

Mr. George was a wonderful, intelligent man, who started a great family. He still represents what the American dream should be, especially after what he went through in Greece earlier in his life.

If we had many, many more people like him, our world would be a better place today.

My thoughts and prayers go to you all, and may his memory be eternal!
