Rochester – George W. Flowers, II, 60, of 109 Wyandotte Falls died Monday September 6, 2004.

Born in Rochester on July 25, 1944 the son of Frederick P. and Hannah (Smith) Flowers. He grew-up in Dover and attended Dover Schools and graduated from St.Thomas Aquinas High School where he lettered in varsity basketball and baseball. He later coached basketball and baseball with the Dover Recreation Department. He was a longtime resident of Dover and moved to Rochester several years ago.

He was associated with the family owned Flowers Furniture Store for many years and later was employed at the General Electric Co. in Somersworth.

He is survived by a brother Frederick J. Flowers and his wife Sally of Kearny, NJ, a sister Ann Flowers Regan and her husband James Regan of Quincy, MA, his aunt Marie Flowers Kelly of Dover, his longtime companion Marjorie Gibb of Dover. He also leaves his nieces and nephews Kevin Flowers of NJ, Brian Flowers of Texas, Karen Flowers Hooper of NJ, James Regan, Jr. of MA, Kathleen Regan Adams of MA, Carolyn Regan of MA and Robert Regan of California. In addition to his parents a brother Robert Flowers predeceased him.

Relatives and friends are invited to call Friday Sept. 10th from 5:00 to 8:00p.m. at the Tasker Funeral Home, 621 Central Ave., Dover. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Church, 150 central Ave., Dover. Burial will follow in St. Mary New Cemetery, Dover.

I am very sorry to hear of George's passing. George and I were best friends growing up in Dover, and he was my best man at my wedding. I have many fond memories of George and I'm sure he will be missed by all who knew him
