George Frazier Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jun. 19 to Jun. 20, 2017.
Frazier, George Wode,

47, died on Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Norton Suburban Hospital, with his family and friends by his side.

He was born on May 19, 1970 in Louisville and graduated from Walden School in 1988. He enrolled at Bellarmine University before deciding to pursue his passion of racing cars, and for the next eight years, he spent time throughout North America and Europe participating in the Formula 2000 Championship Series.

Described by many as simply being a "big kid at heart," George managed to pack more into the 47 years of his life than most people do in multiple lifetimes. He had a lifetime love of sports cars, boats, fishing, soccer and University of Louisville Athletics, and for the past 20 years, he divided his time between Louisville, Fort Lauderdale and the Bahamas, where he was able to spend time on his boat and with friends. He was also an investor in the Louisville City FC, and a former owner of Novus Ordo Vineyards in Argentina.

George was preceded in death by his father, Harry Stucky Frazier, Jr.; and his grandparents, Louise Streible Wode and George Fred Wode; and Amelia Brown Frazier and Dr. Harry Stucky Frazier, Sr.

He is survived by his mother, Jean; his girlfriend, Natalie Dorazio, of Philadelphia; his sisters, Sandra Frazier and Virginia Frazier (Rachael Hicks); two nieces, Eliza Louise Frazier and Alexandra Noelle Frazier; and one nephew, Jayden Lucas Frazier; longtime family friends, Leanna Weaver and Dorothy Coleman; and his dog, Bailey.

The family wishes to thank Dr. John Varga, Dr. Mark Wheeler, Dr. John Ellis, and the physicians and nurses in the Intensive Care Unit, as well as the nurses on the fifth floor at Norton Suburban Hospital, for their care of George. Additionally the family wishes to thank the countless friends and family who provided so much companionship, love and support to George over the last three weeks while he was in the hospital.

Visitation will be from 3 - 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 20 at Pearson's Funeral Home, 149 Breckinridge Lane. Burial will be private.

Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Louisville Zoo Foundation, 1100 Trevilian Way, Louisville, Kentucky, 40213; or to the Kentucky Humane Society, 1000 Lyndon Lane, Suite B, Louisville, Kentucky 40222

My best childhood summer ever was with George on the Acadia I met him driving by on my dads Boston whaler and he invited us aboard gave us lunch and introduced us to the entire crew ! Larger than life generosity hugest heart I´ve ever encountered and dance George danced all the time even when he wasn´t dancing he was smiling the music was always on and we explored so much of The Bahamas I always felt safe with him even at top speeds he was an empathetic caring soul !! Filled with adventures and excitement for the sea ! After working in corporate America for decade I returned to Lauderdalw where I met the boat captain from Arcadia who got me a captains license we drove horizon yachts together and I´m still grateful for the powerful influence George had over my life ! Being raised in The Bahamas in a boat yard I had plenty experience around marinas !! George lit up the Atlantis and was known by everyone in nassau !! Forever grateful for your loving acceptance and varying heart !! I loved your music and carefree generosity!! Thank you for sharing so much joy with this world !! Condolences to all who were lucky enough to knew him !! Rest In Peace George and I look forward to dancing with you again on the other side !!

Having known George since he was a young boy of 11 and seeing him become a fine young man gave me the greatest pleasure. One of my fondest memories is taking him to his first racing class and watching him tear up the practice run. I will always keep memories of our time in the Bahamas together and seeing him become proficient in all the water sports. I will miss him but will always keep him close.

George was a childhood friend of mine. He was without a doubt the most entertaining and charismatic person I ever met! And he was also the most kind-hearted.

He knew everyone's name wherever he went. George was bigger than life itself. Whenever I ran into him over the years, I always admired his good natured personality.

Rest in peace, George. I hope I run into you again sometime!

I met George (G-man) 10 years ago and I must say he was "one of a kind"...
From his mobile v/m (I don't take my messages) to the way he was wearing his watches (the exact hour wasn't important for him) to many many more eccentric habits, I got to know him very well and understood him completely!
We spent some amazing times together in Louisville, Fort Lauderdale, Nassau (where he took me once for my bday) he was always funny and happy!

I extend my deepest condolences to his family!

RIP G-man!

YOU'RE IN A BETTTER PLACE NOW!

George - you always showed me your kindness and generosity. Underneath your youthful spirit laid a passionate heart and the soul of a wandering philosopher.

To your family - I pray that time and your memories can bring you peace. Please take comfort in knowing that when he shared stories of you, he lit up with happiness and pride - something that only someone who knew he was Truly Loved could do.

George. George. I heard this name so many times from my son, Mike Woodlee. For a couple of years I thought that my son was delusional and had an imaginary friend, even though he was an adult. Finally met George and saw that he was indeed a real person. He was my son's friend. My children, grandsons and my husband got to spend some fun times enjoying U of L sports, especially basketball with George. Mike loved him like a brother and I hope George knew that their friendship was genuine, the real deal. Peaceful rest to you George. You will be missed by many, especially my Mike. Condolences from the Woodlee, Dawson, Edwards families to your family.

I will never forget a trip to the Bahamas as the guests of Harry and George. George and I had a little time to spend together and I got the strong impression that, although George liked his creature comforts, he was driven to succeed at something. George was just a teenager, but I could tell he had done a lot of thinking about life, though he was loath to admit it. I haven't seen George in years, but already I miss him.

I first met George on a cruise ship over 15 years ago. He and his Kentucky friends took me and my brother and sister into their squad and we had the most awesome time. But it didn't stop there - we were invited to our first Kentucky Derby and George opened his beautiful home to us and we were treated like royalty and family. He was a beautiful soul and had a generous nature to all he met. I feel very fortunate to have known him.

I knew George in his high school years, mostly through his friendship with my brother, Billy. Remembering him today as a joyful, playful soul as I light this candle. May he rest in peace. Please accept my sympathy for your loss.
