George Hirsch

Hirsch, George George Hirsch, 96, of Allentown, died Jan. 7th, 2015 at St. Luke's Hospice House, Bethlehem. He was the widower of Mildred (Roth) Hirsch, who died in 2002. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Ernest and Josephine (Lowy) Hirsch. George was the founder, owner and president of Allentown Manufacturing Co. and Hirsch Manufacturing Co. He was also a partner with H H & L Realty Co., all of Allentown. He was also a founder and first president of the Lehigh Valley Needle Trades Association, a Mason, a long-time member of the Kiwanis, the Allentown JCC and a long-time supporter of the Jewish Day School. He was a member of Temple Beth El and Congregation Sons of Israel, both of Allentown. Survivors: son, Larry; daughter, Merle Boyle and her husband, Patrick; grandchildren, Lisa Hirsch Schwenderman and her husband, Matthew, Judd Lilly and his wife, Cynthia, Lori Hirsch Evans and her husband, Daniel, and Brad Lilly and his wife, Lisa; 11 great-grandchildren. Services: 10:30 AM Friday, Jan. 9th at Temple Beth El, 1305 Springhouse Road, Allentown, PA 18104. Burial will follow at Beth El Memorial Park, Whitehall.
