George Joseph Holland, Jr.

Holland - George Joseph, Jr., of Locust Valley, NY, passed away peacefully, with family by his side, on March 8, 2023, at the age of 78. Survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Mary Jean (Manker) Holland, his children, George Christopher Holland (Elaine) of Singapore and Gregory Theodore Holland (Jessica) of Locust Valley, NY. Also survived by two grandchildren, Sophie Crittenden Holland and George Theodore Holland. He was preceded in death by his brother Gregory Lewis Holland. George was born in Richmond, VA. on September 12, 1944.

George was a retired Executive with his family-owned business, F. W. Manker Inc. He was an avid golfer and a member of The Creek in Locust Valley, New York, where he served on the Board of Governors for many years and a member of Forest Creek Golf Club in Pinehurst, North Carolina. George attended the University of Virginia (B.S. 1967) and dedicated much of his free time to supporting The University in various capacities as a volunteer.

Among his exceptional qualities, George will be remembered for his selflessness and enthusiasm for people. Most of all, George was a dedicated and loving family-man and a loyal and generous friend.

A memorial service will be held at St. John's of Lattingtown. Interment will be at Memorial Cemetery of St. John's Church in Laurel Hollow, NY.
