George Ingram

Newland - George Ingram, age 63, of Ingram Lane in Newland, N.C. died Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital in Spruce Pine.

Born in Avery County, NC on December 12, 1948, he was the son of the late Jerry and Annie Mae Huskins Ingram. He was preceded in death by two brothers; Reggie and Paul Ingram. Mr. Ingram retired from Coats American and loved to play many instruments, some of which were the guitar, dobro and banjo. He also enjoyed woodworking. Mr. Ingram was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served in Vietnam for 14 months.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Gouges Creek Baptist Church with the Rev.s Tommy Thomas and John McKinney officiating. Interment will follow in Gouges Creek Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm Friday, November 23, 2012 at Webb Funeral Home.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife; Margie Buchanan Ingram, daughters; Tammy Morgan and husband Allan of Spruce Pine and Wanda Pendley of Newland, son; Tommy Ingram and wife Sylvia (Sib) of Spruce Pine, sister; Betty Weathers and husband Doug of Newland, brother; Paul Ingram Jr. and wife Hazel of Newland, and grandchildren; Santana Hoilmon, Triston Ingram, Terri Ann Ingram, Whitney Ingram, Victoria Hoilmon, father-in-law; Avery Buchanan, several special nieces and nephews and many good friends.
