George E. Kingsbury Jr.

George E. Kingsbury Jr., 65, of Easton, formerly of Hanover, died unexpectedly at home on Saturday, January 14, 2017. Born in Brockton, a son of the late George E. and Avis M. (Adams) Kingsbury Sr., he was raised in Hanover and was a graduate of Hanover High School. A veteran of the US Army, he served as an SP4 during the Vietnam War. Upon honorable discharge he began working as a paper purchaser for Spencer Press of Hingham and Wells, Maine and was employed with the company for 30 years. After, he took a position as a horticulturist in the greenhouse industry at the VA Medical Center in Brockton. He enjoyed gardening and was an active patient volunteer at the VA Medical Center in Brockton. George is survived by three children, James Kingsbury of Hope, ME, Katelyn Merrill of Arlington, VA, and Caroline Kingsbury of Kennebunk, ME; his former wife, Nancy (Bates) Kingsbury of Kennebunk, ME; his siblings, Betsey Netto of Temple, NH, Rodney W. Kingsbury of Carver, Barbie Rugg of Marshfield, Bonnie Banks of Carver and Kevin Kingsbury of Lakeville; also survived by 6 grandchildren. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a Memorial Service on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. in the VA Medical Center Chapel, Building 24, 940 Belmont Street, Brockton, MA.
