George Lindner Obituary

Warner, NH-George A. Lindner, 85, of Kearsarge Mountain Road, died Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009 at CRVNA Hospice House in Concord. He was born in New York City, NY on April 9, 1924, the son of George E. and Marjorie (Fabian) Lindner. He spent his early years in the Bronx and attended City College of NY before enlisting in the army. George Lindner served as a Captain in the US Army during WWII, and was part of the forces that landed on Utah Beach. George and June Lindner were married in 1952 and moved to Westchester County, where they raised their family. That same year, Mr. Lindner established his own business, Ad Service, which he owned and managed for many years. They moved to Warner in 1988, where he was active on several town boards as well as in the the Warner Men's Club and volunteered at the Warner Elementary School. Mr. Lindner was an avid golfer and Red Sox fan, coached Little League baseball and helped with the Warner Wolves. He was a loving husband and father and is survived by his wife of 57 years, June (Johnson) Lindner of Warner, NH; four children, Wendy Fenyves of Vienna, Austria, Heidi (Robert) Paoletti of Trenton, NJ, Michael (Marie) Lindner of Stockholm, Sweden, and Amy (Adrian) Krois-Lindner of Vienna, Austria; 10 grandchildren; one niece and one nephew. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at The United Church of Warner with The Rev. Dr. J Jermain Bodine, Pastor, and Mr. Lindner's son-in-law, Pastor Robert Paoletti of Calvary Chapel of Philadelphia, officiating. Burial will be in New Waterloo Cemetery with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Concord Regional Visiting Nurse Association, 30 Pillsbury Street, Concord, NH 03301or the CRVNA Hospice House, 240 Pleasant Street, Concord, NH 03301.
