George P. Lizotte

George P. Lizotte, 83, of Whitehall, passed away peacefuly at his residence while in the loving care of his family on Wednesday, May 11, 2022. He was the husband of Shirley A. (Marsh) Lizotte. The couple would have celebrated their 38th wedding anniversary on September 2nd. Born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, he was a son of the late George and Elvie (Nurmi) Lizotte. After graduating in 1956 from Fitchburg High School, George enlisted and honorably served in the United States Army and Air Force. He was most proud of his 25 years of service to the Borough of Coplay serving on the auxiliary police. Additionally, George was employed at Mack Trucks, Allentown, for several years. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Laurys Station.

Survivors: In addition to his wife, Shirley, he is survived by his daughter, Michele Semler and husband, Joseph, of Northampton; stepdaughter, Beth A. Sloan and husband, Bruce, of Schnecksville; eight grandchildren, Josh, Michael, Mercedes, Brian, Andrew, Rachel, Valerie, and Derek; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Bruce Lizotte and wife, Barbara, of Massillon, Ohio; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Mark C. Lizotte, in 2018; and stepdaughter, Kathy A. Derhammer, in 2004.

Services: Private. Arrangements have been entrusted to the GEORGE G. BENSING FUNERAL HOME, LLC, in the Village of Moorestown – Bath.
