George Louis - age 95, of Phoenix, AZ, passed away on November 23, 2015. George was born in Mlawa, Poland on September 27, 1920 to Anna (nee Tachna) and Abe Itzkowitz. Raised in Mexico City, he moved to Chicago, IL in his teens and graduated from Roosevelt University. George married Naomi (nee Goldberg) in 1944 while serving in the Army Air Corps; she predeceased him in 2014. A highly regarded CPA who worked in Chicago and Los Angeles, George was beloved by his clients, doing their taxes until age 90. An adored father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and great-uncle, George is survived by daughters Carol Abrams (Chuck) and Anita Grossman; granddaughters Caryn Aviv (Dawn Weber) and Amy Abrams (Ronen Glimer); and great-granddaughters Sasha Drinkwater, Ruby Glimer and Noa Glimer. He is also survived by his nephews, the sons of his late brother Ralph Itzkowitz (the late Lillian): Alan Itzkowitz (Wendy) and Barry Itzkowitz (Denise) and their families; his niece Harriet Schwartz (Richard Askinazi), and his nephews Phillip Silverman (Pam) and Steve Mandel and all their families. George made many friends at La Siena, where he lived since 2011, and will be remembered by all for his wit and kind, gentle manner. Graveside funeral services will be held at 2:30 pm on Sunday, November 29th at Green Acres Cemetery, 401 N. Hayden Rd. in Scottsdale.
