George LYLYK Obituary

GEORGE PETER LYLYK 1944-2014
It is with great sadness that the family of George Peter Lylyk announce his passing. George passed away March 20, 2014, at the age of 70, after a battle with cancer. George was born in Outlook to George and Ann Lylyk. He had 3 sisters (Doris, MaryAnn and Jean). George made his home in Outlook and formerly in Conquest. He was a carpenter by trade and took his training at SIAST in Moose Jaw. George's skills took him to many places for work including the Gardiner Dam and briefly to Regina with his brother-in-law Florian. George was a loving, loyal man, moving home to look after his ailing mother until her passing. Then he was off to Pioneer Grain, remodeling offices and cottages and finally working for his brother-in-law Ken and nephew Grant at K. McIntosh & Sons, where he worked for many years until he retired. He was especially proud of working on the Heritage Centre and Dental Clinic. George built many homes, making lots of friends along the way. If you ever needed help or advice…George would go over and above to help. George's shy, gentle nature was noticed by all who knew him, including pets of all makes and models. Animals loved him and he loved them in return. George was predeceased by his parents; sister MaryAnn Schlosser; brothers-in-law Peter Franklin and Hugh (Gig) Lemon. George is lovingly remembered by sister Doris Franklin and her son Bob; brother-in-law Florian Schlosser and their children Allen, Ron (Debbie), Darlene (Barry), Rick (Veronica), Kevin (Fern); sister Jean (Ken) McIntosh and their children Nancy Lemon, Richard (Vivian) and Grant (MaryAnn); and numerous nieces and nephews. For those who visited George, helped mow grass and move snow in his yard, you are true friends and we thank you. Thank you to the staff at Outlook Home Care, Outlook Health Centre and the Saskatoon Cancer Centre for their care and support through this past year. At George's request, there will be no funeral. Interment of remains will take place at St. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Broderick, on Saturday, April 26, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Family and friends are welcome to attend the graveside Service. Memorial donations may be made to the Saskatoon SPCA, 5028 Clarence Avenue Saskatoon, Sask. S7T 1A7 or the Saskatoon Cancer Centre, 20 Campus Drive, Saskatoon, Sask., S7N 4H4. Arrangements are in care of the Outlook Funeral Chapel. 306-867-8255
