George MAHONY Obituary

Published by Windsor Star from Apr. 20 to Apr. 21, 2018.
MAHONY, George
It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of George on Monday, April 16, 2018 at Bridgepoint Hospital in Toronto at the age of 66 years. Beloved husband of 29 years to Barbara (nee Kappl). Proud and devoted father of Stephen (Kimberly Viveiros). Dear son of the late Gordon Mahony and treasured by his mother Kathleen Mahony. He is survived by his siblings Margaret (John Huver), and David (Carol). He will be sadly missed by his father- in-law Mike Kappl and brother-in-law Michael Kappl, his niece Andrea (Ryan), his nephews Lance (Kirsty), Matthew (Candace), and by his great-niece Nora. In lieu of floral tributes please consider a donation in his memory to the War Amps of Canada, a charity that was so near and dear to George's heart. Entombment will held at 1 p.m. at Victoria Memorial Cemetery on Saturday, April 21, 2018 .

So sorry to learn of the passing of cousin George. Great memories of time in Grandad's tool shed in Windsor where he no doubt developed his many skills. RIP.

George was a very kind and gentle man. I remember fondly of a "special" camping trip with lots of laughs and memorable moments .

Dear Barb: Sorry to hear George passed away. Fond memories with all his cousins growing up in Windsor. I remember when he introduced you to our family and we all loved you immediately. Sounds like you had a beautiful, happy marriage and a wonderful son, Steve. Prayers go out to you.

Dear Aunt Kay: Sorry you lost your beloved son so early. He is with our Lord and Savior and free of pain. Love you Aunt Kay and know that we are praying for you, David and Margaret and their families.

So sad to hear about cousin George's passing. Too soon. I have fond memories of picnics at Boblo and bingo at Granny Perkins' each Christmas. He will be missed.
