George McCroskey Obituary
Visitation was Friday at Greenview Funeral Home. Friends may call beginning at 1 p.m. today at Christ Chapel Church, followed by a celebration of life service at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in Greenview Memorial Park.
He was the founder of Bibles for Russia and a missionary to Russia and the Ukraine for 24 years.
Preceding him in death were his parents, George Alfred and Mary Lou McCroskey.
He is survived by his wife, Jean; daughters, Edith Davis (Keith), Joan Norris (Randle) and Tammy Franks; sons, Mark and David McCroskey and Thomas Murray (Shannon); sister, Harriet Bratcher (Donny); 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two nieces; and one nephew.
Pallbearers will be James Rieger, Jack Sellers, Russell Harper, Elton Ralston, Paul Clark and Garry Malone. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Houseman, Jim Bevis and David Keyser.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bibles for Russia, Alfred McCroskey Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 69, Florence, AL 35631.

I believe one of the rewards Alfred will receive in heaven is as he looks far to the left and right, and from front to back, all the souls that came to Christ because of his ministry and faithfulness.

My condolences to Jean and the McCroskey family. I have the greatest respect for Jean and Alfred and their contributions to God`s Kingdom. He will be missed.

A true man of God has left this life to join his Father in heaven...something he has been working for for over 24 years. Alfred and his wife Jean and the Holy Sprit have estabish over 1,000 churches in Russia the Ukranie. Many do not know. What a joy it is to know where Alfred is now....
