My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Mr. McHale. I was a student of his at St. Elizabeth. He was a very inspirational teacher and on multiple occoasions over the years, I would recall a particular subject that was discussed in his Liberal Arts class our senior year. He inspired a lot of young minds and his infleunce was very broad.
Rest in peace Mr. McHale,
Laura Jennings

Dear Mr. McHale,
How could we forget you, Mr. McHale!
Although years have passed like a thunder gale
Still fresh these visions from long time ago
Face filled beard and how your curly hair flowed
You taught us how to question and ponder
This amazing world that we all wander
From diagramming to word source meanings
English became a life treasure of gleaning
To Shakespeare's plays you gave your humble due
“This above all: to thine own self be true”
Religion you helped us to understand
How we live and apply God's lesson plans
The gifts you shared with us have reached out far
Like the chords strumming forth from your guitar
And now, we remain here without your song
But the love you taught us, we'll pass along
Memories insure we'll not be apart
For in our hearts is a piece of your art
With love and appreciation from your student,
Paul Michael Beck

I was privileged to work with George for a couple of years at the Squirrel Hill Barnes and Noble. No one was more fitted to sell books than George, who loved both books and the people who read them. We had a lot of good times, both at work and outside of it. George was a guest at several of our family Passover seders, and he was an enthusiastic and thoughtful participant. Most of all, George was a good friend. I will miss him, and I extend my most sincere sympathy to his family.

I have known George since 1963 when we were college classmates at Cassadaga, New York. On Fridays, we had a history class at 1:30 PM so before the class George & I would take a long walk after lunch. His unbeatable sense of humor would fill those walks, and in class I would start thinking about his jokes and start laughing, usually though the whole class. He was a treasure and I will remember him for a long time in my prayers.

George - You were much more than a cousin "twice removed" as MiMi always told us. You were a dear friend, a wonderful part of our family, and I will miss you very much. The McHale party in Heaven right now must be thundering with Jimmy's laugh, Mimi's stories, your Dad shuffling in his too big shoes, Marty looking for his medicine and Helen and Catherine just glad you are all together. And then you will have to fit them all into the Heavenly Volkswagon! Rest in Peace in the arms of Jesus, dear cousin.

My heartfelt sympathy on the loss of George McHale. I was one of his students at St E's and have many wonderful memories of his classes, retreats, play and graduation parties, and even my wedding where George accompanied on guitar another friend who was to solo. Thanks for your positive influence on so many students. Requiescat in pace, Mr McHale!

Thank you, Uncle George, for all the cinnamon toast, for your endless patience when asked to draw "just one more queen". For always treating me like a person- never like just a kid. For always being there, even from so far away. Thank you for everything. Trying to focus on all the happy reunions that are taking place right now. I love you, Angel
