MEENAN GEORGE

We, the family of the late George Meenan would like to express our sincere and heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming support and sympathy we received in our recent sad bereavement. Heartfelt thanks is extended to all relatives, friends and neighbours who visited George and for their kind gestures and generosity of spirit during the wake and to those who brought or sent Mass Cards, Sympathy Cards, letters of condolences, food parcels or floral tributes or helped in the home in any way. Kind thanks are extended to all who attended and helped out at the Funeral Mass, ensuring it was so special. We received great strength from your support and condolences and thank you to all who travelled long distances to be with us. Our sincere appreciation goes to Rev. John Cargan for the celebration of the uplifting Requiem Mass and to Bishop Edward Daly and the many priests who called with George and gave their support before and during the wake. Special thanks goes to George's grand-daughter Leona Gillen and to Deborah Kelly and Clare Doherty for the beautiful singing and the organist John Peoples for the beautiful music. A special thanks to the consultant, doctors, sisters, nurses and ancillary staff of Ward 7 Altnagelvin Hospital, the dedicated staff of Quayside Medical Practice, district nurses, Pallative Care and Rapid Response Teams and Marie Curie nurses who attended George during his illness and provided care and comfort to George and the family in his last days. Very special thanks to the dedicated and special staff of Seymour House for the daily support, care and compassion shown to George and the family : "Angels in Motion", your care and kindness will always be remembered and appreciated and we are indebted to all of you for your attentive care. You made it "home from home" for George. Thank you to all who made donations to Seymour House in lieu of flowers. Your generosity is greatly appreciated. Thanks also to Philip Doherty, George Caldwell and Angelina Clarke for your care and devotion to George. Thank you to the great neighbours of Ardnamoyle Park and Gort Na Si Close for your kindness and generosity and to all the work friends and colleagues of the family for your kindness and support. It means so much to each of us. Our gratitude goes to Greencastle Regatta Committee for your friendship and kind words and thoughtfulness. They are greatly appreciated. Finally our thanks goes to W.J. O'Brien & Sons for the dignified manner in which the funeral arrangements were conducted. As it would be impossible to thank everyone personally, please accept this as a token of our sincere gratitude. Your kindness to us as a family will always be remembered. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.

George's Month mind will be celebrated on Saturday 8th June at Vigil Mass at 6.30 pm in Our lady of Lourdes Church, Steelstown Road, Derry. All are very welcome.
