LTC. George J. Nemec
Warwick - LTC. George J. Nemec of Warwick died peacefully on December 31, 2020 at Doylestown Hospital from complications of Covid-19. He was 74.
Born in Philadelphia, he was the beloved husband of Marianne (Menardi) Nemec for the past 51 years and the son of the late George and Laura Nemec. George was a graduate of LaSalle College High School, Class of 1964 and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Drexel University in 1969. Shortly after, he became a Certified Public Accountant. George started his career at Price Waterhouse (now PWC). In 1995 he joined Air Products and Chemicals of Allentown as an Internal Auditor. He retired in 2006.
George was a proud veteran of the Unites States Army. He joined the ROTC at Drexel University and then served active duty during the 1970s at Fort Jackson Military Base in South Carolina. He served in the Reserves for 27 years at Fort Indiantown Gap Military Base and Willow Grove Naval Air Station in Pennsylvania and proudly retired with the Rank of Lieutenant Colonel in 1996.
He was a faithful parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord Parish and was an active volunteer with their weekly BINGO nights and the annual Carnival for over 20 years. He also was a volunteer in the Warminster Community coaching soccer, basketball, baseball and softball, as well as refereeing and umpiring those sports. More recently, he volunteered his time with the Brad Fox Foundation, as well as the Finance Committee at Heritage Creek.
George was a family man. His beloved wife, children and especially his grandchildren were the focus of his energy. He was a proud supporter at all of his children and grandchildren's educational, social, and athletic events. Not only was he there for everything, but he made it feel like it was the most special event in the world.
He enjoyed his own activities too. He ran several family and friend football pools. He loved to golf, participating in several golf leagues as well as golf outings with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed the quiet simplicity of a puzzle, model boats or fishing. In his free time, he was traveling with Marianne to away Eagles games, various casinos and racetracks.
George was a Legend. He was larger than life. His contagious laughter filled the room. He loved everyone he met and treated them like family. He was always there with a smile for you, a beer, advice or a good-natured sarcastic comment. He had a way about him where you always wanted to make him proud.
In addition to his beloved wife Marianne, he is survived by his devoted children; Denise Hill and her husband Jerry, Michelle Rich-Bonn and her husband Ed and Michael Nemec and his wife Rachel; the proud grandfather of Joseph and Thomas Hill, Vanessa, Patrick, Jason, and Alex Rich and Michael and Alyson Nemec.
George's family will receive condolences on Wednesday, January 20th from 3:30-5:30 PM and again on Thursday, January 21st from 10:30am until his Funeral Mass 12:00 Noon at Nativity of Our Lord Church 605 W. Street Road, Warminster, PA 18974. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in George's memory may be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation at 2361 Hylan Boulevard Staten Island, NY 10306.

What are tremendous loss of sunshine great friend. I am just discovered the loss of a great man. I shall miss his counsel and I am a better Auditor because of George. I feel so bad that I could not be there for the family. George loved each of you fully and completely.
Funny story: George and I had to go to Hanscom Air Force base. He had been doing work in Hemstead, NY at a trash-to-steam plant there. I don't think that he really wanted to fly but, I won the discussion. Well, as we lift off, we had a major turbine failure and had to return to Willow Grove. I told thew pilot to get another bird because we had am deadline too keep and I didn't want my boss embarrassed. Well, we got another bird and we kicked it. We arrived ahead of time for the meeting flying over NY Harbor eye level with the Statue of Liberty. Shortly after we arrived the conference began. Suddenly, Mr Gregory, the main man from The General Accounting Office, had to return to Washington. When we discovered what he needed we offered to let him use our bird to go to JFK Airport. Our ride delivered Mr Gregory to JFK. Without missing a stroke George looked at me and said: "You did well!"
I love you George I will miss you deeply. I wish the beautiful Nemec family: peace, joy, and total happiness. I don't think George would want any less.

My condolences to George's family. I just found out about George's passing today. I worked with George at Air Products. We both worked together in many fraud investigations so I got to know George pretty well. He was a great guy to work with. Always made me laugh and was very thorough in investigating. It was great working with him and I've missed him since he retired. His name still comes up in conversations at work. May all your memories get you through this difficult time.

My condolences to George's family. I worked with George in the Internal Audit department at Air Products and he was one of the most dedicated workers I have known. He had a fantastic ability to conduct fraud investigations and he did so with great enthusiasm and success. His humor was enjoyed by everyone he touched. I know how much he loved his family through the many stories he shared.
My sincerest condolences to his family. I know you will miss him but I am sure you have many fantastic memories of George that will keep him alive in your hearts and minds forever. He now rests in peace with our heavenly Father.

I first met George when he was teaching Army Command and General staff down in Dover, De. I have had many Army instructors who were very good but none were as entertaining and effective at helping you retain what he taught. One of his tactics was to parade around the room with a golf putter, which suggested he was into golf. We never did connect on going golfing but it served as a great ice breaker when we got together socially. I also served with George at the 79th ARCOM and again he was most memorable and a lot of fun to be with. He was always sharp and had the gift of being able to bring you around to his point of view.
I know he will be missed by family and friends.

Marianne,

So sorry to learn of George's passing and the tremendous loss to you and your family. I've known George since we were classmates at Drexel, we worked together at Coopers & Lybrand, served together in the U.S. Army, and enjoyed numerous dinners with fellow soldiers. He's home now, but that doesn't make his passing any easier. He touched us all.
