George E. Northy

George E. Northy, 93, of Exton, Pa., formerly of the Akron/Canton area of Ohio, died Jan. 2, 2005.

He was the beloved hus band of Ann C. (nee O'Neil); de voted father of Anita True and her hus band, Roger, of Fairfield, Conn., William Northy and his wife, Ellen, of Coraopolis, Pa.; stepsons, Jack Dellevigne of Flemington, N.J., Dr. William Dellevigne of Malvern, Pa., and Paul Dellevigne of West Chester, Pa. He is also survived by four grandchil dren, Jean Northy of Scotts dale, Ariz., George, Kate, and Morgan Northy of Coraopolis, Pa.

Born in Calumet, Mich., he lived in Akron, Ohio, and then at Congress Lake in Hartville, Ohio, for many years. He was founder and president of Industrial Paint and Glass, Inc., in Akron. He was formerly an architectural designer and an industrial sales engineer with PPG Industries, as well as an archi tect with Goodyear Tire & Rub ber Co. Mr. Northy was a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University with a degree of Bachelor of Architecture. While there, he was elected to Scar ab, the National Architectural Honor Society, and was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity.

Mr. Northy was an avid golf er. He also enjoyed traveling, which he did extensively, both in the U.S. and abroad. He was a member of the Congress Lake Club in Hartville, Ohio, for over 45 years. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Ak ron, Ohio.

Relatives and friends are invited to his memorial service on Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005, at 10 a.m., at the Donohue Funeral Home, 1627 West Chester Pike, Westtown-West Chester, Pa. (610-431-9000). In lieu of flowers, memorial con tributions may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society, 1615 West Chester Pike, Suite 102, West Chester, Pa. 19382, or a charity of one's choice.
