Roy Johnson III

My deepest condolences to all of Judge's Family. His obituary said it better than i could. I remember the very first time i ever met him , it was in the Courtroom and my partner, Patrick Boone, introduced us. I remember thinking, "Why couldn't I be like him, so genuinely friendly and down to earth ?" Well, it wasn't an act because every time after that, whether as an attorney, a District Judge, a Probate Judge or a retired Judge, he was the same kind of man that one wanted to just sit and talk to for hours. My friend, "Slim" as everyone called him, with his spirit, intelligence and caring heart would have been the best Governor, Senator or President we could have ever had. We have lost a Giant ! And i still wonder why i can't be like Judge Slim ?

Judge Reynolds was a fine person as well as a fine judge.

Judge George Reynolds was highly respected & admired by my Parents , Dorothy & Albert Read. As a child I remember my Dad saying " I'll ask "Slim" about that "
When time came for me to have a letter of recommendation to The Alabama State Bar , my Dad & I went to Judge Reynolds office to request his assistance. He graciously agreed to write the letter. This was wholly based on the friendship he had w/ my parents . My deepest gratitude to the Honorable George Reynolds for the friendship & fellowship he shared w/ my parents .
The first cases I ever had as a new Attorney were in Judge Reynolds court.
I had to do well for my client , my parents & Judge Reynolds. I have never been more afraid , Judge Reynolds could see the terror I had , he said " Lisa , you have prepared , and you have done your best , right ? . There's nothing to be afraid of but me, the smile he had gave me reassurance & I proceeded.
My Mom , Dorothy Read died in Jan. of 2016. My Dad will be there in spirit . The stories of " Slim " brought my Dad great joy. He admired this fine Man immensely . I think I will try to talk w/ him and possibly recall some of their days as fellow deacons, friends & honest men.

Judge Reynolds was truly a sincere and honest man. Although rich in brilliance and statute, he treated everyone with the same kindness and courtesy. The world has truly lost a great person and heaven has gained a wonderful soul. It was an honor to have known and worked under such a kind and thoughtful man. May God grant his family the blessed peace that only He can give. Know that the prayers of his many friends and acquaintances are with you during this time and in the days to follow.

I was so sad to hear about the death of George Ray. He was kind enough to give me a summer job working in his first law office many years ago. Although I didn't see him often over the years, I'LL never forget him.

It was a privilege to have worked for Judge Reynolds in Probate Court. He was a kind person with great wisdom. God Bless His Family.
