George was my mentor to me. Class of 1985 John Abbott College, Police Technology program and civil law courses at Concordia University. Wrote my application recommendation letter for McGill law school. Rest in Peace George. Thanks for your kind thoughts and my being a strong individual today thanks to you. Deepest condolences to Judy and family.

I only knew George Springate for a short five year period of his outstanding career. It was when George was Canadas Senior Citizenship judge the lead one of about 30 members who served across Canada.
George was attentive, demanding and fun to be around.
I was fortunate to share his company more regularly since he worked closely with the RCMP headquartered in Regina and would invite me to his convocation addresses to their graduates. We would have an ongoing bet on the table whenever the Alouettes of the Anthony Calvillo era and the Saskatchewan Roughriders would play.
He was a proud Canadian, bilingual, and constantly spoke to new citizens about how fortunate they are now with their rights and freedoms protected by the rule of law. And, of course, he did so in a most engaging manner.
Canada has lost one of its grander guys!

A great friend in our "youth". Helped our family through some tough times.
Served as best man at our wedding!
Never asked why or what....just how can I help.
