I met Admiral Talley in 1979 when I was an agent with USPA/IRA. I knew him as George when he was the Regional Manager for USPA/IRA. He came to our Financial Planning Seminars in the Northern Virginia area as the speaker for our guests. He was outstanding in his presentation, and enabled me to make my task easier as an agent presenting the Family Financial Plan to my prospects. I also had the opportunity to play golf with George several times and he helped me improve my game. I still think of him today when I have a hard shot that I need to execute with his saying: " Hit the shot that you can, and make the next shot easier. "

George has been a wonderful friend and co-worker in 1st Cmd for many years. Sad to hear that he is gone. I know to the end, if he were here we'd still be.on the golf course with him having fun taking my money. My thoughts are with you .and the family.

VADM Talley and I were shipmates in Carrier Air Group THREE (he was CO of VA-34 and I was in VA-35)during a 1959-1960 Med cruise in USS SARATOGA. Later we were both Golden Eagles. My sincerest condolences on your loss.

I'm very sorry to hear about VADM Talley. I know him when he lived in Jacksonville. I was friends with his son, Dale. We lost touch over the years and would like to reconnect.
