George Tosh Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Aug. 21, 2010.
TOSH, George Gary George Gary Tosh, son of George and Hazel Tosh, born September 18, 1939 at Calgary, AB passed away on Friday, August 20, 2010 at the Regina General Hospital after a brief illness. A highly gifted artist, his carvings are in numerous private collections worldwide. He was a founding member of the Regina Whittlers and Woodcarvers Club and was actively involved with them and with the Saskatchewan Wildlife Art Association, until he entered the hospital. In my grief, suddenly losing a brother, when I least expected it I realize that I made a terrible mistake. I have been reading all the messages from everyone and mine is sadly in error. Lara, you were a wonderful light that came into our lives when George met Joyce. My condolences and thoughts are also with you.

Joyce and family,
I am so sorry to learn of George's passing. Over the years I got to know him very well through his work and presence at the Neil Balkwill Centre, and always looked forward to seeing his new creations each week. Very talented and creative, as well as generous with sharing his art with anyone who was willing to give it a try - even me!. I will always remember George with great fondness.

Joyce and family - I remember first meeting George at the Reflections of Nature Show when we held them at the Saskatoon Inn. I always enjoyed his good nature and his dedication to carving. While I haven't been really active in the SWAA over the past few years I continue to paint and carve and I will always remember George as a friend who encouraged everyone to do their best, enjoy life, and their art. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I hope Mom and Dad are waiting with open arms where they are. My thoughts and sympathy are with you Joyce, too soon and so unexpected.
Evangeline - George was so proud of your accomplishments and career. Treasurer your memories.
