Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 for George Valentine Tripkovich, at Saint Joseph Catholic Church 1802 Tulane Ave. New Orleans, officiated by Father Tom Stehlik. Burial will follow at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery#1 1950 Soniat St., New Orleans, LA.Rosary will be said by Darrell Guidry. George was proud to have served our country as a member of the United States Marine Corp. in the Korean War. He later retired from Public Belt Railroad after 45 years. George was an active with Alcohol Anonymous for 51 years and helped others to stay sober. He is survived by daughter Karen T. (Darrell) Guidry; son Michael (Annette) Tripkovich; daughter Gail Anne (Rick) Heaton; son Chris David; (Nancy) Tripkovich; son-in-law Salah ElDarragi; none biological children Eugene Cookmeyer and Cheryl Briggs; niece Jenny Lynn Tripkovich; nephews Fredrick (Fritz) Tripkovich and Jason Tripkovich; twenty grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Irma Tripkovich; brother Fredrick Tripkovich; daughter Laurie Anne ElDarragi; grandson Khalil Michael ElDarragi and special friend JoAnn Cookmeyer who he loved dearly. We would like to thank Camelot of Broussard Assistant Living for the love and care they provided and Amedisys Hospice Care for the compassion at the end of George's earthly life.
