George Von Hoffmann Obituary

Von Hoffmann Jr., George W. a retired business executive and avid water fowl hunter died Oct. 10, 2008 in Town & Country, after a long battle with cancer. He was 72 years old. Mr. Von Hoffmann Jr. was with the Von Hoffmann Companies for 35 years. During that time, he served as President of Von Hoffmann Corporation and President and Vice-Chairman of Von Hoffmann Press. He attended 2 years at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri and Rochester Institute of Technology in Rochester, New York. Life member of WPO, member of YPO, Moolah Temple, Reception Committee, Chancellors and Royal Order of Jesters St. Louis Court 81. Past Board member of the Goodwill Industries, Enterprise Bank and member of the Missouri Athletic Club. Among the survivors are his wife of 52 years, Barbara Von Hoffmann; four sons, George III, Christopher (Leita), Eric (Kristin), Dale (Kim); two daughters, Cynthia Weis (Steve) and Janet Rathmann (Steve); 14 grandchildren, three sisters, Jean Sheets, Betty Von Hoffmann, Carol Lundstrom and many friends.Services:A private memorial was held at BOPP Chapel in Kirkwood, MO. Cremation followed. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children or to a charity of your choice.

He always brightened the room with his smile and love of life. Always giving of himself to help those in need. We will cherish his memories and he will never be forgotten. It was a pleasure to know him and call him friend. We will miss him dearly. Our love to the family whom we think of often.
