GEORGE B.
Age 63, of Hampton Township, formerly of West Sunbury, passed away of ALS on Tuesday, November 11, 2014, with his family by his side. Born February 12, 1951, in Butler, he was the son of the late George S. and Leota (McCracken) Wolford. George worked at Mellon Bank for over 34 years as a manager in Information Technology. He enjoyed woodworking, shooting pool, vacations at the Outer Banks, and driving his yellow Corvette. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, and his new grandson. He is survived by his wife, Laurel (Newman) Wolford; three daughters, Niki Wolford, Courtney (Brad) Fletcher and Bethany Wolford; his grandson, Brayden Fletcher. George's family will welcome friends from 6-8 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2014, and from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Sunday, November 16, 2014, at the KING FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, INC., 2841 Woodland Circle in Allison Park. A Memorial Service will held be at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 17, 2014, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 1965 Ferguson Road in Allison Park. A reception at a nearby restaurant will follow the Memorial Service. If desired, memorial donations may be made in his honor in support of the ALS Association, Western Pennsylvania Chapter, 416 Lincoln Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15209, webwpawv.alsa.org. Expressions of sympathy may be shared with George's family at:

I had a chance to ride in that yellow Corvette of his. A life long dream of ownership that he fulfilled. I'm sure he never had the chance to drive it much. I'll miss you George.

George and I started at Mellon and we worked together for over 30 years. He always cared about people and put himself out for them. No words can make the pain go away. Please remember his smile. It made the day better.

I was truly sorry to hear of George's passing. He was a wonderful friend and mentor, as we started our Mellon journey many years ago. He was always ready with a smile, laugh or an encouraging word. I am so sorry for your loss, you and your family are in my prayers.
