George S. Zakarian

WEST BOYLSTON-George S. Zakarian, 80, of West Boylston died, Friday, March 25 at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Brockton. His wife of 45 years, Carol S. (LaPointe) Zakarian died last year. He leaves a son, Gregory Zakarian and his wife, Alexis of Leominster; two grandchildren, Delilah Williams and Andrew Newman and nieces and nephews. His brother, Harry Zakarian died in 2010. He was born in Worcester, son of Simon and Agnes (Kachajian) Zakarian. George owned and operated Si's Whole Fruit Company in Worcester, before retiring several years ago. He was a member of the Armenian Church of Our Saviour. He loved playing card with his family and the game trouble with his grandchildren and was quick with a good joke. Visiting Hours will be held Wednesday, March 30 from 4 to 6pm at Callahan Fay Caswell Funeral Home, 61 Myrtle St. A Funeral Service will be held Thursday, March 31 at 11am in the Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury St. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, West Boylston. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Armenian Church of Our Saviour.
