It is with heartfelt sorrow that the family of HUGH SIDNEY ROSE announces his passing at Brantford General Hospital on October 11, 2011 in his 84th year. Beloved husband and best friend for 59 years of Eleanor, RR. 2 Branchton, ON. Loving Father of Calvin (Sandra) of St. Thomas, ON; Marlene (Bill) Hume of Peters Corners, ON; Ian (Melody) of Hamilton, ON; and Robert (Tanya) of Villa Nova, ON. He will be sadly missed by his many Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren of which he was immensely proud. Hugh was the last of his immediate family being predeceased by his parents Kenneth and Daisy, beloved sister Norma, brother-in-law Jack, and step sister Evelyn and her husband Clifford Hastings. Hugh worked for many years at Otis Elevator in Hamilton, until its closing, and then the Hamilton Wentworth School Board, from where he retired as Custodian of Beverly Central Public School. Hugh had a very genteel nature, always concerned about the well being of others, and a generous spirit. He enjoyed his family and friends, the outdoors, bird watching and playing his mouth organ. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service celebrating Hugh's life will be held at Marlatt Funeral Home, 195 King St. West, Dundas, ON., on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 1 o'clock. Special thanks to the staff of Brantford General Hospital 7th Floor Palliative Care. Your kindness, love and support will not be forgotten.
