On November 23, 2017 Georgia Raines Wooden passed away at VCU Medical Center. She was born August 10, 1946 to the late Linwood Raines and Florence Bell Raines of Prince George, VA. Upon the death of her mother she moved to Petersburg, VA to be raised by her sister, the late Mildred R. Taylor and the late Franklin Taylor.

She was a former member of Union Baptist Church in Spring Grove, VA and attended Second Baptist Church in Richmond, VA .

She leaves loving and lasting memories to her husband, Benjamin Wooden, Jr., three children, Mario Wooden (Venita) of Chesterfield, VA , Karen Huger (Raymond) of Great Falls, VA and Bridget Wooden of Richmond, VA; three sisters, Lillian R. Simpson, Rebecca R. Richardson and Rev. Doris McCray of Petersburg, VA; nieces, Michelle Raines-Murphy and Deborah M. Ramsey, Esq.(Michael) of Maryland, Sharron Wooden of Fairfax,VA and Megan Harrison of Spring Grove, VA; nephews, David Harrison of Petersburg, VA, Wayne McCray (Star), Ronald McCray, Joshua Beasley (Shanta) & Deron McCray of Petersburg,VA, Donald McCray of North Carolina, Earl Raines (Christine) of Disputanta, VA, Norman Raines,Jr. and Larry Raines (Francine) of Prince George, VA Kim Raines (Sharon) of Norfolk,VA, Gilbert Raines (Sheila) of Texas, and Jack Prophet (Vanessa) of New York; brother-in-law-Michael Wooden (Sharon) of Spring Grove, VA; sister-in laws, Valerie Harrison of Spring Grove, VA & Elsie Raines of Maryland in addition to a host of great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
