Gerald Mitchell Bednarik

Gerald (Jerry) Mitchell Bednarik was born on December 8, 1944, age 79, of Sandy, Utah peacefully passed away on May 6, 2024.

Jerry's life was marked by his love for fishing, traveling, and watching westerns. He was a beloved prankster with a loving heart, known for his playful spirit and warm presence. He always lent a helping hand to those in need, whether it was with projects, health, advice, or simply being someone to talk to.

He is survived by his former wives Janet Ainsworth, Bednarik, Mackelprang, and Karan Butterfield, Jacobsen, Bednarik, his children Robert Bednarik (Kris), Becky Bednarik, Pierce (Jimmy), Brent Bednarik (Adrien), Christine Jacobson Duncan (Scott), Dea Bednarik, Brittany Bednarik Mcdonald (Aj), Michael Bednarik (Katlyn), 23 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, and his brother Steven Bednarik (Paige). Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Frank Bednarik and Irene McClure Bednarik, his first child, his grandson Skyler James Pierce, his granddaughter Kira Burroughs, as well as his brothers James (Jim) and Dennis Bednarik.

Jerry graduated from Granite High School in the Class of 1963 and went on to become a skilled carpenter and respected contractor in the community. He was known for his craftsmanship and dedication to his work.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor Jerry's memory details will be shared with family and friends.
