BERARD, Gerald On May 24, 2011, after a brave struggle with cancer, our beloved husband, father and grandfather, uncle and friend, Gerald passed away peacefully at the age of 73. He is survived by his loving wife, JoAnn; two sons, Gerald Jr. of Kimberley, B.C., and son, Leonard; daughter-in-law, Arlene of Edmonton; mother of sons, Trudy; grandchildren, Jesse and Jacob of Kimberley, B.C.; mother of grandsons, Jodie; Rebekah, Brandon and Jordyn of Edmonton; brothers and sisters, Mae, Robert, Willie, Norman, Shirley, Paul and Eileen. He is lovingly remembered by his many special nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Alfred and Agnes and his brother, Raymond. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Dr. A. Mokrzanowski and caring staff at the Belmont Medicentre, Northeast Home Care nurses, paramedic attendants, numerous doctors and nurses at the U of A Hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Ron Barton and the caring staff at the Norwood Hospice for their extraordinary kind and compassionate care. Cremation has taken place. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, 5003 - 162 Avenue, Edmonton. Floral arrangements are gracefully declined.
