Gerald Hugh Brodigan (Jerry), passed away peacefully on April 24, 2025. He was 81 years old. Jerry was born on April 12, 1944 in Puyallup, WA. He was raised on a farm in Kapowsin and graduated from Bethel High School in 1962. After high school, Jerry served in the United States Army from 1965-1967 and later worked at Concrete Technology until his retirement in 2000.
Jerry was an exceptional athlete and excelled at many sports. While at Bethel he was awarded eight varsity letters—two in football, three in basketball and three in track—along with multiple all-league and all-state honors. He was inducted into the Bethel High School Hall of Fame in 2018 as one of the best all-around athletes to ever come out of the school. After high school, Jerry continued to enjoy athletics. He spent many years playing slow-pitch softball, including two years on the Heidelberg slow-pitch team where he was named to the regional all-star team in 1970. In 2016, Jerry and the 1965-1971 Heidelberg team were inducted into the Tacoma/Pierce County Sports Hall of Fame. Later in life, Jerry loved spending his free time playing golf. He achieved two holes-in-one; the first at Brookdale Golf Course on July 4, 2008, and the second at Lake Spanaway Golf Course on July 1, 2020.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father Felix Brodigan, mother Margery, brother Felix Brodigan, and sister Marlene Thompson. Jerry is survived by his wife of 43 years, Nancy Brodigan, his daughter Lisa (Matthew) Crossman, granddaughters Alison and Emily Crossman, sisters Marti (Bill) Anderson, Theresa (Bill) Wikof and his sister-in-law Margie Brodigan, along with many nieces and nephews.
