Gerald Bruno Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Dec. 11, 2024.
Gerald Antonio Alessio Bruno, born on May 14, 1950, in Glendale, California, passed away on December 5, 2024, in Gainesville, Florida. He was a beloved member of his community and a cherished friend to many.

Gerald, known affectionately as Jerry, spent his most recent years in Palm Coast and Ormond Beach, where he embraced life with enthusiasm and warmth. A true car enthusiast, he had a particular fondness for Mustangs, often sharing his passion with others. Jerry found immense joy in making those around him happy, whether it was taking his grandchildren and his beloved partner, Julie, fishing, playing cards or simply sharing a meal together. He had a great love for his three sons Jeremy, Joshua and Alessio. He also raised Katera, Sherryll and Ashley as his own. Jerry had 10 amazing grandchildren, and one great-grandchild that he adored and showed them that laughter is really the best medicine! Jerry also leaves behind his sister, Susan and nieces and a nephew and their families.

As an Italian, Jerry had a deep appreciation for Italian and Mexican cuisine and relished breakfast outings with Julie, which became cherished rituals for the couple. His love for music was evident in his daily tradition of selecting a special song to play each morning, guaranteed to bring a smile to Julie's face.

Jerry was also deeply spiritual, dedicating much of his time to teaching others about the Bible and instilling hope for the future and supporting the Congregation. His laughter and love resonated with everyone he met, as he believed in the power of joy and kindness.

Gerald Antonio Alessio Bruno leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering support for those he cherished. He will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

We feel so privileged to get to know Jerry and Julie in such a short time. To come to love and admire such a dynamic duo. Always caring and always there. (Really there) we will strive to imitate the kind spirit and love and faith. And while we wait for the paradise to come, we will be there, really there for his wonderful family.

I´ve know Jerry since 1976, for a time we were the only elders in the newly formed congregation in Lemon SD. We were young and inexperienced as elders, but we did okay. One of the fondest memories I have of Bru is his brotherly affection. Often he would walk up to me with a smile on his face and rub my back and give me a hug. I learned from Bru that it´s okay to show your love for the brothers. I will always remember that!! Our condolences to you Julie for your loss. We long to see his smiling face again.

I only drink a beer with only a few special people I admire, and Jerry was one. We had nice talks together, he understood me better than anyone, and I appreciated
his thoughts and how he really cared. I can't wait to see you in the new system.

I'm so sorry for your loss. He was so kind, and I remember him being very supportive, when my son and I lived in Pueblo. Condolences to all the family.

A very positive brother, and friend. He would laugh at my dad jokes. And I would get a laugh because we would laugh at my sense of humor. He and and his wife went out with me and my wife, and made my wife feel welcomed, although she's not a Witness. And that was so important to me. He would always ask about her and would send his greetings.
