Gerald Clinthorne Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jun. 12, 2018.
Gerald Scott Clinthorne, age 63, of Rochester Hills, Michigan, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Monday June 11, 2018.

Loving husband of Jan; Devoted father of Alex, Ian, and Bryan; Loyal son of Gerald and Angela (Canale) Clinthorne; Caring brother of Robert and David (Gina) Clinthorne, and Elena (Keith) Bernier; Affectionate uncle to many nieces, nephews, and great nephews.

Jerry was born in Highland Park, Michigan on August 16, 1954. He graduated from Lakeview High School in St Clair Shores and earned his bachelor's degree from Eastern Michigan University. Jerry worked as a curriculum designer for most of his career at Raytheon and spent a short time working for Volkswagen.

Jerry lived for his family. He was a talented musician and gifted singer who enjoyed sharing his passion for music and guitar at open mic nights around Rochester and the surrounding area. He was a mechanical wizard who took great satisfaction in keeping the vehicles running.

He is remembered for his lightning-fast wit, encyclopedic literary references, easy smile and generous heart.

This world will be a lesser place without him.

Jerry's family will hold a Celebration of Life on July 14, 2018 at the Rochester Community House located at 816 Ludlow Avenue in Rochester from 4-8 p.m. Please RSVP: [email protected].

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leader Dogs for the Blind online at www.leaderdog.org.

Jerry was a wonderful human being and I am deeply saddened to hear of his passing. When my youngest brother died last year Jerry was so supportive. I will be praying for peace for his family. What a tragic loss. The world lost a great one. Semper Fidelis Jerry, until we meet again my friend.
